Do you U2?

Tomorrow, this time, James and I will be on our way to Jozi, following a dream :-)

Several months ago we were chatting about how we enjoyed big concerts. It's something we've made a point of doing since we were youngsters.
Some of our favourites over the years have been OMD, Crowded House, Simply Red, and Rod Stewart.
We have supported local artists too - mostly as support acts to the "big guys", but some had fantastic concerts of their own.

Durban people are famous for not properly supporting the big acts, with the result that they don't want to come to our little village.
The question arose regarding whether we would travel to another city for a concert. Our decision was that it was just too expensive - with ticket prices already in the "luxury item" bracket, not to mention travelling and accommodation costs.
Well, there was one exception ... U2!

A couple of weeks later I recieved an email from Computicket, announcing the U2 360 Tour. Of course we were going ... the only problem was that they were not coming to Durbs. No surprise, really.

We didn't stop to think. As soon as bookings opened, we were there in the queue ... praying for good seats in our price range. I'll be able to report back next week on whether our computer-selected spots were any good or not. Although considering that this is so much more than just a concert, I'm quite sure that almost any spot in the stadium would be fine.

We just can't wait for Sunday night. U2 360 is going to be an experience of a lifetime.

On Monday, Valentines Day, we'll be visiting Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves (www.maropeng.co.za/) - another experience not to be missed - before flying home late in the afternoon.

See y'all on Tuesday :-)
